by admin477351

In a notable shift, Arab stock markets witnessed a significant uptick in trading activity during July, marking a 28.82% increase in the volume of shares exchanged compared to June. This surge brought the total trading volume to 261.86 billion shares, up from 203.27 billion shares in the previous month. The Iraq Stock Exchange played a pivotal role in this rise, closely followed by Egypt’s contributions to the heightened trading activity.

Despite this increase in trading volume, the overall value of transactions across these markets experienced a decline of 16.82%, dropping to $90.24 billion in July from $108.48 billion in June. This downward trend in transaction values was observed in several key markets, including those in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait.

Performance across the region’s stock markets presented a varied picture, with Egypt’s EGX30 index emerging as a standout performer by recording a gain of 5.85% over the month. In contrast, other regional exchanges displayed a mix of gains and declines, reflecting the diverse market conditions prevailing in different areas.

Meanwhile, the overall market capitalization of Arab stock exchanges remained relatively stable, showing a slight increase of 0.06% to reach approximately $4.31 trillion. This stability in market capitalization underscores the resilience of regional markets amid the fluctuating trading values and activity levels.

These developments highlight a dynamic trading environment within Arab stock markets, characterized by increased activity despite facing challenges in transaction values and mixed performance outcomes across major equity markets in the region.
